A Child’s Recovery
Following
Severe Brain Injury

Brian’s Journey

The purpose of this web site is to provide hope and encouragement for the parents and caretakers of brain injured children. We can provide a list of ideas that could help. We can remind you that you are not alone and that no matter how dark things look, there is hope.

It is not our purpose to tell you what to do, but we can tell you what we did and provide a list of resources that we either found helpful or think others might find helpful. We are not trained medical professionals, and  of course, anything you choose to do should be done under the supervision of your child’s professional medical team.

When we brought Brian, who was seven at the time, home from the hospital we were scared, confused and felt very alone. It took us many months to find and implement rehabilitation techniques and ideas that we found helpful. It is our hope that this website can shorten that journey for you.

Brian has come a long way since his injury. We see progress on a daily basis. We have every reason to be hopeful that his progress will continue.

If you are the parents or caregiver of a brain injured child, we hope that this web site will be of some help in your journey.
